Great Books for Gifted Kids [Lunch & Learn] FILLING

Sign up or log in to save this to your schedule, view media, leave feedback and see who's attending!

Limited Capacity filling up

A good book can transport you to a different world, make you laugh or cry, and teach you about yourself. We all benefit from reading books that feature characters like us or with similar struggles. While our society doesn't always nurture and accept gifted people, there are many books, movies, and televisions shows that feature them. To prepare gifted children for challenges they are likely to face, teachers and parents can help them choose books that feature gifted and talented characters. We’ll pair the social emotional characteristics of gifted kids with books that relate to them. Everything from picture books to adult novels will be discussed. Participants will leave the presentation with a few new favorite books to share with their gifted students.
